10/8
Frankenstein by Mary Shelley - Entire book, online.

If you've never read the book, it's a good deal more than a zombie with a flat top haircut and neck bolts. (Though I do like the misunderstood monster / mad scientist version, too).

The difference that shocked me the most as a kid, upon first reading it? No Igor.

There's no castle on the hill.

No angry villagers to burn it down.

The old blind man played a guitar, not a violin.

The monster *saved* the little girl from drowning.... but did kill a few people in the course of the book.

The monster is very intelligent, thought has no control over his passions.

He learned language, and how to read. (to the point where he could absorb Milton's Paradise Lost and the like.)

A much better tale than Bram Stoker's Dracula., in my opinion.

With that, I approach my bed-chamber... for 'tis time to read from my New/old book.

Happy Dreams, Dear journal.

Disembodied this morning... Beautiful song on my winamp. Call me a fuddy-duddy if you want, but I really like Dean Martin. (As opposed to Sinatra, who I think is a little bit of a creep....though I really dig the movie The Manchurian Candidate.

Random movie factoid - The Manchurian Candidate was the Senator, running for president.

Greens are some of the most powerful and intelligent people in the aura spectrum. Greens are extremely bright. They process information and ideas quickly; jumping from steps one to ten. They do not like dealing with all the steps and details in between.

I'm delighted that some of the new palmtops out there are $99. The Zire actually looks pretty darn cool. If they put a flash reader in it, I think it'd be the ideal. I prefer the square form factor to the m-series. When my visor goes belly-up (No signs of doing so yet, and I've had it for a couple of years now...) I know that the new one I get will have all the features I use now for very little cost.

I'm hoping with that they catch that guy with the gun in Maryland before he strikes again. I'm wishing that my loved ones in the area were able to stay in today, even though the chances of them being in any danger are quite small. Thing is that I don't like them in *any* danger... but there's no sense in borrowing trouble. Projecting good thoughts and love can only help matters.

Well, according to the gps, I walk 2.7 mph when walking my normal pace, or 3.3 if I'm doing a brisk walk. Not much of a difference.

Lovely shower...comfy, and soothing after the walk home.

I'm going to have a little early recumbence. Nighters, dear journal.
